I have to say, I totally agree with Big B on this one. I have spent half of my life trying to take care of things that I end up damn near giving away! I am currently selling two '04 Suzuki V-Stroms. One has 1,400 mi. on it, the other 2,100. -The book value is almost half of what I paid for these things. By taking extraordinary care and the low milage, the blue book says I can add 10 to 15 percent to the average retail price. -
Whoopii!! Between my last two CVO Ultras I paid cash for a new one, and a beautiful 2000 Ultra with only 17,000 mi. disappeared along the way! I've had 25 new bikes, and am sincerely hoping my new one will last as long as I do. It's depressing to realize how far planned obsolesence has effected our society. -So you can buy your protective fairing coatings. -Maybe save a couple dings. In the end you've spent time and effort for the next guy, who will pay a fraction of what you have. -"Book value". -That is, unless you really plan to keep your bike forever. -Retail Steve
