Stupid Question Time
« on: July 24, 2007, 10:14:59 PM »

As I was moving my tour pack (2006 FLHTCUSE) to install the tour pack relocation kit I noticed the light in the tour pack. Can someone tell me how to turn it on? I can't tell if it is out or not (I bought the bike with 5000 miles on it about a month ago and the radio didn't work....the dealer found that someone had put the wrong fuse in for the radio so I'm thinking maybe there is a fuse out).

From the "wealth" of data contained in the owners manual, the shop book for the bike and the SE supplement, the only thing I can determine is that it comes as a single LED unit and has to be replaced (no bulbs).

My life is complete otherwise......in other words, I've been riding a lot and really love the bike. It's just that I am curious as to how this works.

Geezer,

Press in the center of the lens on the light to turn on or off.  It will also turn off automatically if you forget, after about 10 minutes.

Not at all. That light is probably the single most questioned item, as fas as how to make it work. Well, that and the mystery button on the left inner fairing.....

I guess it took me a few Yuenglings to figure out how to work the trunk light.  Beats the heck out of a switch.

What's the old saying, "The only stupid question is the one that's not asked."  Never worry about asking questions here.  We've all asked "easy to answer" questions before.

Ahhhh, Yuenlings.  I wish they would carry that here in Illinois.  I have 1 case and that is it until the next time I head down that way.  :)

Take care
