2008 CVO Springers - No more front wheel offset!!!???
« on: August 13, 2007, 05:57:06 PM »

It appears that not only did the MOCO change the size of the front wheel on the '08 CVO Springers, but they also got the wheel centered between the forks.

Why, after all these years did Harley omit the offset and center the wheel??  What was the purpose of the offset in the first place??

Thanks!

The older springers are centered. When they went with the fatter rear tire, they had to move the whole rear wheel to the right — easier than moving the belt drive left I guess. To keep alignment with the front tire, this had to be moved right too. I wish they'd found a more elegant solution. I haven't been able to look closely enough at the '08s to know what changes were made to re-center the front wheel.
