Good eye, now that you mention it I thought all the 70,71 and 72's had hood scoops and "442" on the side instead of "Cutlass". ;)

I had a 70 W-30 Hurst 442 back when I was a kid.  Way more hp than a kid needs for sure!  Sold it after about a year.... still kick myself for that one.

Its actually a cutlass, Pretty much everything but the emblems have been converted to 442.

and in 72 the 442 didn't have to have the scoop hood. You could have even got a 442 with a 350 rocket, didn't have to have the 455.

My 70 442 had a 455ci.

Not sure when the small block became an option in the four-forty-duce... probably when government regulations castrated the muscle cars in 73 or so.

Wouldn't it be nice to still own  some of the vehicles we owned in our youth.  THE MUFFMAN

Don't you know it

I had a 69 SS Chevelle before I had the 442.  Also had a 70 Nova for a short while and a 72 Chev. Cheyenne Super short bed.
Passed on a 70 Barracuda Convertible w/ a 440ci back in the days, because I thought $1800 was too much for it... what was I thinking :nixweiss:

Yeah, I had 71 Trans Am 455 SD then stupidly traded it on on new Grand Prix in 74. Hated the Grand Prix then bought a 76 TR6. Rare car with A/C for up in Canada anyway. Sold it when I got married in 1981. Oh well. Still have the same wife. ;D   THE MUFFMAN

Been trying to trade the wife in for years. Started out wanting 2 - 20 year olds, then 2- 25 year olds, then 2 - 30 year olds, now I want someone to take over payments. ;D
