I had a '73 Pontiac LeMans w/350 Rocket, '73 Ford Torino w/modest 302C (loved that car, learned how to do bodywork so good on it that when I sold it, the guy couldn't find where I had repaired it...factory paint from a spray-can!) '69 Buick LeSabre...that thing was a frigging boat! Had a clock-style speed alarm that you could set to any speed...learned how to repair brake lines on that one...

 But, in high school, I had the rockin'est car, a Pinto Station Wagon, school bus orange with real simulated wood panel sides...I was the envy of everyone...shoulda played the accordion to further launch my popularity, nothing says "I'm cool" like a good Polka!

In the day I had as friends called it "The urban assault vehicle". 

A theft recovery Pontiac Granville 4 door (each a different color and well dented) Kinda of brownish, mostly.
Nice big chrome bumpers that were well used for bumping and pushing things.

455/4bbl with limited slip.  Rusted quarter panels, half a front grill, studded snow tires on all 4 corners.
Crunched, scratched, primered somewhat on every surface area but had all its glass.

No head liner, torn leather seating, a substance that at one time may have been carpet,  interior of empty bottles, cigar stubs, cigarrete boxes, bras, panties, Styrofoam MacDonald's containers and other sundries.

The look of fear in the civilans as I tore around was priceless...

I had a friend who had a Pinto Wagon automatic. It would do at least 60 MPH if you were going downhill. It didn't take over 5-10 minutes to get that fast neither. Whenever it'd shift into high gear, it was like hitting a brick wall.

I had a poop brown 74 pinto back in the day..lol The road seemed like a roller coaster while driving that. Went from a 68 Cadillac deville to the Pinto..lol

I'd always ask what's the difference in value with one that has a new motor or one sitting next to it that doesn't to the new buyer?  Sellers always thought they were worth more, buyers always were happy to get it butnot pay more.

Funny how that works.

My wife bought a 74 Pinto, chit brittle brown automatic. Had to replace timing belt every 10,000 miles. Biggest POS ever!!!!!
Some dumba$$ mechanic bought it for $ 500.00, broke down on the way to it's new home.

When I met my wife back in the early 80's she had a pinto that shook like a dog chitting razor blades when it was idling. It was so bad that she would put it in neutral when we she came to a stop. I laughed so hard the first time I rode in that thing I thought I was going to wet my pants.
