I've been watching Sfarson and other's videos of their rides and thought it was such a cool idea that I took the plunge and bought a camcorder, of course after consulting privately with the experts here on the site. I have a 5 inch RAM mount, so will put it on the right side handlebar when I decide to record and shoot from there. Diva can shoot from the back of the bike as well. It will also take a half decent still photo (4x6). I've got a high end digital still camera, so was not concerned about the camcorder's ability to capture still shots.
One thing I was told is that the mini tapes work best on the bike or other high vibration applications. The hard drive models, or DVD R/W models, so not do well on the bike or similar situations. Plus, the tapes are cheap, and hold up to an hour each.
Here's the camera:

I also got the wide angle lens adapter, Hoya coated UV filter, B+W Polarizer, and LowePro bag. If I can do some tests, I will bring it to HS and attempt to record our ride on Friday to Mt Magazine. I can't promise how good it will be, but I'll try.
So smile, you'll be on Candid Camera!!!
