08 CVO Ultra - Longer Wait a Blessing?
« on: September 13, 2007, 12:27:37 AM »

Well, my Anniversary Ultra was on my dealer's computer showing a 9/11/07 ship date.  But as of today, the dealer tells me it didn't ship, at least according to his computer.

Could it be a blessing in disguise?  Or am I giving the MoCo too much credit believing that a delay in shipping is somehow related to containing the quality issues and taking corrective action before these bikes hit dealer showrooms?  :nixweiss:

Okay, I am either fantasizing or hallucinating, sorry.  ::)

One of the latter two choices I'm afraid.   :(

wishful thinking at the least.  Doubt seriously that they are delaying shipments of the whole HD line to work the QC issues on the 110's. :-\

deuce - I'm guessing this is one of those trick questions, right?  Fortunately, you provided your own answer later in the same post; you are definitely fantasizing and hallucinating.

You and Jerry are right, many of our bikes have missed the estimated ship and arrival dates for years.

The MoCo's idea of an estimated date is simply to fill in a field on a computer that won't allow the production planning for a bike until the field is filled.

Unfortunately, it holds little validity for an actual ship date.

My understanding from a few dealers is that all the 08 SE's except the orange crate will be delayed two to four weeks.

It's not just the SE's. Many of the 08's are delayed. It was mainly the touring bikes, but found out the new Rocker has been delayed as well.

Well, they just put a fork in my order and told me 2-4 week delay and MoCo is being "tight lipped" about it according to my dealer.  I believe this dealer. The folks I am dealing with are good people.

I don't know if I can stand being without a HD for another 2 months or so.  Oh well.
