CVOJOE,
That's a pretty good peice.  Made me think of Sydney this past November.  A couple of kids- I mean kids, they were 14 & 15 yo!- attacked an off duty police officer, whacked him in the head with their fists and either severely injured him or killed him (I don't remember which).  The officer was out for a night with his girlfriend, having had dinner, was walking back home.  Seemed like a case of mistaken identity, tempers flared and the officer paid the price heavily.  Had Australia not gotten rid of their personal weapons, the situation might have had a different outcome.  I will never give up my weapons!  It's too easy to handload and make your own stuff, so I don't even have to be able to buy ammo.  Wheel weights make great bullets and gunpowder ain't that tough to make.  I just have to be sparing with my cases.  Of course, since I police the ranges where I shoot, I think I'll have enough to last a while. :2vrolijk_21:

You must be from the civilized side of the state. In Memphis it has gotten to the point when a person has to use an ATM, they do it in pairs with the spotter armed and on guard. In the beginning of January we went for 18 straight days in a row with at least one carjacking a day. It is probably still going on only the Chamber Of Commerce and City Hall got the right people that convinced the media that they were doing big damage to the city by reporting it because other nearby communities were picking it up and making a joke of it.

Going back a few pages on the family learning thing.  My Dad had a lot of guns around.  For all kinds of reasons, but mostly for feeding his family.  So we were all taught about how to hold them, how to load them, how to unload them, how to put on the safety, how to  care for them.  Each one of us kids.  But as in all families, some take to some things better than others.  Myself, the oldest and my brother number three in the brood of four, we liked the gun thing.  And we were taught more than the other two.

To this day, if you so much as point a finger at me, I shake.  My Dad would smack us so hard we'd fall to the ground - if we so much as pointed a stick at someone and pretended it was a weapon ------ there is no room for mistakes with a weapon that takes your life or the life of anyone you love.

WHY THE GUN IS CIVILIZATION (only fools don't understand)

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another...

...and that's why carrying a gun is a civilized act.

I think that's profound Joe. Well put.

Went by my local gun shop today to buy a Judge and found a long waiting list. I had them add me to the list but it looks like it's going to be quite a wait.

I have a Colt Pony in 380 stainless steel that I like to carry in the back pocket for the same reasons and I too wonder what happened in your situation. What caused it to fail ?

Are they that popular or Taurus just making a limited number?

okay, operator error!

i have shot many rounds too without failure. on the river bank. i lost confidence in it after my altercation. i still think its purdy. :coolblue:

The real deal is not like the practice, is it?  That's why it all goes back to the instinctive moves learned thru all the practice when it all goes wrong.  If you want to get rid of the SS 380 Colt, you'll have no problem... ;)...they're getting harder and harder to find.  spyder
