saw this in  American Rifleman

Walther PPS - More Conceal, Less Carry

The Walther Police Pistol Slim (PPS) model narrows the margin between concealment and confidence by packing Walther innovation into an unbelievable 1.04 inch profile. It's amazing how much professional-grade design actually fits into this lightweight sub-compact. Available in either 9mm or .40S&W (Fall 2007), the PPS packs in more power. All in all, the PPS embodies both the legendary quality and tradition of innovation that make it not just a great pistol — but a great Walther pistol.

PPS Power - Small Frame, Large Caliber

In 9mm or .40S&W, the PPS has several notable features aimed at better fit and safe performance in its narrow dimensions. From your choice of perfect-fitting backstrap (small or large) to our patented QuickSafe™ innovation, no one packs in the power and features like Walther:

Ambidextrous Magazine Release
Two Magazine Sizes (Third Optional)
Loaded Chamber & Cocking Indicators
Small & Large Backstrap
Trigger Safety
Internal Striker Safety
Walther QuickSafe™ Safety
9mm Caliber
   6 & 7 Round Magazines Included (8 Rounds Available)

.40S&W Caliber
   5 & 6 Round Magazines Included (7 Rounds Available)

Noticed that (8 max/9mm). Would make a nice backup/ankle holster carry, but I can get 15 round clip for the Berretta. My S&W is small enough now for a backup/ankle holster carry, and that has 12 round clip.

Its slightly thinner than Glock 26/27. L and W are even bigger than the Glock and the standard 27 mag holds 9 rounds. Plus the 27 is $200 less. Looks nice though, but not that ni$e.

:huepfenjump3: I love my G27!  Goes everywhere I go!  Hey, why does the lower trigger guard of the PPS swivel down? :confused5:  It does look pretty!

Where's that extra penny going?

Never Mind......I found it!!

The magazine release is the latest in Germanic design. The lower part of the triggerguard has a hinged lever, and you press that lever down to release the magazine. It takes some getting used to. However, it is ambidextrous, unobtrusive and, considering that there is absolutely no room on the frame for a customary (to American shooters) magazine button, pretty clever. Not new but still clever.

uA few comments: the NRA website is the bible for information on interstate travel but if you know that you will be travelling thru a non reciprocity state, my personal favorite is Mass., the firearm should be packed safely, unloaded, separately from ammo, with "no immediate access". Although romantic, any more than 2 rounds in the pr**ks head or chest has been construed in court to change incident status from defensive to offensive; and the dead mofo isn't the only one to legally worry about, friends, family, or an overzealous anti-brian DA or local prosecutor can also press local ordinance violations against you, and fook if I want to go back to deliverance,Alabama (no offense), for a court date, or get yanked off my ride to post. That being said, I hate bad guys, kill em' and let God sort 'em out. Just be careful

I tapped a carjacker ten years ago three times with a .45....Three is my number at the range too.
I put 2 in the scumbags chest and once in the skull on the way down after he cut me through the window on my truck...
Cops said nice shootin....but this IS the Gunshine state, thank goodness.   :2vrolijk_21:

Lots of rumblings going on about gun control.  My guess is that if Hitlery and/or Obama get elected, it will be a steep downhill ride for those of us living in states that still allow citizens to own guns and protect themselves with them.

We could be one election and/or a few supreme court appointments from seeing our second amendment rights disappear.  People better wakeup and smell the coffee. :(
