You guys kill me. I'm allowed to carry a handkerchief and our Police have to shout "Stop or I'll phone for permission to shoot you"

Beam me up Scotty!

Allegedly, some people carry a 5 shot featherweight .38 S&W with a laser grip sight. Allegedly.

FYI  here is a decent summary of carry laws including a section on travel.
http://www.nraila.org/GunLaws/Federal/Read.aspx?id=59

Some states are a real PIA so plan accordingly. That we feel its unfair or unconstitutional will probably not impress the local sheriff if stopped.

Cheers!

The LCP is great for Florida, carry mexi style in the fron pocket of short pants, prints like a wallet.
It is kinda of snappy with the corbons in it.  Ball shoots ok but it is no fun to practice with.

I did not go to the gun show last week, the 1st step to recovery!  But I do need a new wheel, something nice ...44 ss 6inch S&W??

Does anyone have experience with a SIG SAUER P229 DAK chambered in .40 S&W?  I'm interested in range endurance and accuracy after 100 rounds at at 6.5 lb. trigger pull.  Thx.

Got one of those, but it is a compact.  Renea has an XD-9 compact.  Springfield Armory is spot-on with the entire XD line.  I like it better than my H&K USP, and Renea likes her XD-9 better than her Glock 19.

Chip,
Does the double action affect your accuracy after firing numerous rounds?  In other words, how does the 6.5 lb. trigger pull wear on you after, say, three magazines of ammo?
Thanks for your input.

Actually Henry it does wear on me.
But the reality is that in a situation that requires more than one clip I'm sure that trigger wear will be the least of my concern.
In target practice I knock out ten then start over.

Henry

I'm not the sharpest shooter on the range.
The quality of my Sig and my practice with it certainly gives me confidence to use it effectively should that need arise!

That, and the whole safety/auto de-cock feature provided by the DAK.  I really like my H&K and my XD-40, BUT, if I ever have to REALLY use either, my worst fear is an inadvertant, adrenaline fueled discharge into my torso or leg upon reholster.   :nervous:
