Allegedly, some people carry a 5 shot featherweight .38 S&W with a laser grip sight. Allegedly.

If someone did have one of those for a carry, it would be a good choice and easy to pull
out of a pocket (or not).

I think the MSRP I saw was in the low $500 range.  You should be able to get one for a bit less.

That, and the whole safety/auto de-cock feature provided by the DAK.  I really like my H&K and my XD-40, BUT, if I ever have to REALLY use either, my worst fear is an inadvertant, adrenaline fueled discharge into my torso or leg upon reholster.   

Practice drawing and holstering with TF outta TG (Trigger Finger/Trigger Guard). Keep your index finger straight out alongside the slide, only putting it on the trigger when you've aquired your intended target. Making a habit of this will help prevent accidental discharge.

I am not affilliated with this gun shop. I have purchased several gunds from them and been very satisfied with price and service. If you do not have  a FFL, you will need to find a local dealer that will accept a shipment. My local shop handles the paperwork for $35.

Got one of those, but it is a compact.  Renea has an XD-9 compact.  Springfield Armory is spot-on with the entire XD line.  I like it better than my H&K USP, and Renea likes her XD-9 better than her Glock 19.

I have been thinking about getting another in the 40 compact.  How do you like it?  I figure the little bit smaller size would make carry easier.
