I'm not an assault weapons collector but I saw a listing at my gun shop for a Colt AR 15.  It noted it is rare and worth having.

Any opinions welcome.  It was around $1400.00 and had extra mags etc.

More fun to build them...  Get a DPMS stripped lower and a Del-ton kit.  I just built an M4 and an A2 - was a blast just to build them, and Del-ton makes a great upper kit for $465 plus the lower - just be patient delivery times are long right now.

Just got my Yugo M70AB2 kit tonight, going to build an AK underfolder and a fixed stock Rom G next.

Building them is addicting

I think I'll go by there in the morning and see what the deal is with it.

I doubt they'd have it posted where they do if they weren't looking for a Colt nut to see it.  I know I need to get some additional details to know what I'm talking about anyway.

Don't know how 'rare' they are, Rog.  But I do like mine, of course, I've had it for a very long time.  Price is all over the place for them and as you know, condition, condition, condition.  ;D har!  spyder

I'll be checking it out in the AM I hope, I forgot Santa is going on his annual buying trip for the company Christmas party tomorrow and Mrs. Claus will be along (no gun store).

But Santa will be able to stop afterwards.  If I have the strength.  :2vrolijk_21:

Roger,
Hop onto gunbroker.com.  You should find lots to look at and learn from as far as what prices the Colts are bringing.

One thing to pay attention to Roger is the model.  I've got a Colt AR that I bought 2 of several years ago that is the Target Match Competition model.  Wish I hadn't sold one of them to a friend as I turned down $2600 for mine last week with an AimPoint red dot on it.  Seen some standard ones going anywhere from $1000 to $1600 in the past couple of months depending upon condition.

Ifr you are looking for a rare AR-15, I have a rare one that I bought new in 83.  22" bbl, 3 30rd mags, and a scope on the removable mount.  It's one of a kind, (the only one I have), and I'll take $2500 for it on paypal...     That s a screamin deal!

Does Ruger still deny Health Insurance to bikers who choose to ride helmetless in states where it's legal? Many bikers protested Ruger for this policy, led by AMA qand ABATE. Was wondering if this is still the case.

Similar weapon Roger, but pre ban (sear only change for full auto).  Most of the post ban AR's are marked "match"...the older ones (most bought on government purchases) designate "competition match".  Most of the pre ban are set up for quick change from "street legal" to auto for competition in the armed forces events.
