My friends wife was sooo excited to get hers. Took her to the range 2 days later with a box of rounds and some targets. This Little thing kicked like a 50 cal and was very difficult to hold. the recoil bruised her hand in the web between the thumb and fore finger. She fired 4 rounds and we traded she emptied the clips in both my .40 Glocks without near the recoil.

Probably the most wicked .380 I've fired managed a 5 inch grouping at 15 yards but very uncomfortable to shoot. the trigger pull is around 6 lbs and can only be modified by a gunsmith. It was pretty :-* but went right back to the gun store and the Glock 9mm is back in her purse.

Seems these two guys disagree with your comments on the 380LCP (and so do I).

Note the amount of recoil in the YouTube video. Nothing like a 50 cal!

You pay a price in comfort for size and weight.  It is meant to save your life and not for plinkin cans.  A seecamp may be better, a little heavier

I don't mind my lcp at all.  Gold dot is a little spicy to shoot but ball ammo is not all bad. Not for nothing but after 3 clips for practice each month I put it down and shoot some other guns for fun. Nothing fun about it.  I don't carry full size anymore..the lcp is a perfect semi for pocket carry. In south Florida you are in shorts most of the time and it is hard not to print a pdw.

Cant compare the two as they are different weapons altogether.

All in my own inflated opinion of course..whatever a shooter is most comfy with is the issue as long as it carries a round with some punch.

I agree on the compromise.  The main thing is to HAVE a gun if needed and more times I have my (marginal) .380 than a .45......the important thing is that I have it if needed.  It is interesting to note that the most back-ordered ammo all around is the .380 now.  Must be a lot of people 'down-sizing' for comfort/convience these days.  spyder

Sorry dont like it but it is easily concealed and the gun you have with you always beats the one in your car. The convenience is undeniable, The colt Govt model .380 is not much harder to conceal and a much better mannered piece. IMHO :2vrolijk_21:

I'd rather have an LCP than be unarmed but at this price point there are many other options to choose from.

The pistol I carry the most of all my options.  Not the smallest, but the best compromise (IMHO). The Llama .380 is so very similar, but a tad heavier.....still a nice carry piece of that ilk.   ;) spyder

Carried a .380 for years easy to conceal fairly comfortably.

Recent years went to the subcompact Glock 27 .40 cal. Little more stopping power and concealable even in shorts using the www.smartcarry.com holster.

When riding use a Coronado leather concealment vest. www.coronadoleather.com or open carry in Uncle Mikes OTP leather holster under my leather Jacket.

If I do relocate to Florida though understand the weather may require an adjustment? :nixweiss:

Here's a great case for the LCP. Use it everyday and don't know it's there.

Vermont is the only state true to the founders concept. The Second Amendment is your permit there.

While the founders had it right, the reality of the situation is quite different.  In Vermont, if you are a law abiding citizen and use a firearm to defend yourself, I can almost guarantee that you will be prosecuted by the county attorneys for some sort of homicide charge.  If on the other hand, if you are a lowlife thug/criminal and murder someone or commit a straw purchase, since you obviously have issues (self esteem, fill in the excuse blank), you will get off with a slap on the wrist.

There was a shooting in Vermont awhile back.  The gun was straw purchased and later used to kill someone in a drug deal.  They let the suspect out with no bail and he skipped town and later shot and paralyzed someone in Arizona.  The straw purchaser got 90 days of a suspended sentence.

Another guy kill someone who had been threatening and taunting him for months.  The dead guy cornered the defender and was attacking him with with an ax handle.  The defender got 5 years in prison.

Another guy was being attacked with an ax.  The defender shot the killed the attacker with a rifle as the attacker was turning around.  Grand jury did not find sufficient evidence to try the guy.  The county attorney was not satisfied and later found a reason to try him for manslaughter.

Another guy was threaten for weeks by a co-worker and had publicly stated he was going to kill the guy.  The guy came after him and the defender shot and killed him.  As he was laying on the ground, the defender hit him on the head with the pistol.  The defender plea bargained and got 7 years.

And the stories go on.  While the states constitution protects the right of firearm ownership, the county attorneys actively prosecute any apparent act of self-defense as murder or manslaughter.  Bottomline, protect yourself and get ready to stand trial.

Only problem is that most of those 12 are the ones that elected the officials that made the stupid laws, appointed/hired the prosecutors that enforced them that put you there.  What a mess.   spyder

Very disappointing to hear this >:(

Just goes to show how the small minded abuse power they are entrusted with.
It's always easier to abuse the law abiding citizen as they care about the rules. Criminals on the other hand are beyond the rule of law a concept politicians cannot comprehend.
