I have owned Springfield guns in the past and found them to be very accurate and dependable. That new .45 looks good but one thing to consider is the aggressive design of the grip. It would be nice in the hand and help control recoil or increase grip if hands are wet. The down side of such an aggressive grip is increased wear on shirts/vests or jackets due to fabric rubbing on the roughness. It could also be irritating to the skin if you use an inside the pants holster.

Good points... definitely not an ideal concealed carry... but DAMN it is a sweet gun!

I sure like my Sig Sauer 357, shoots a nice group, etc., but just big enough to be cumbersome under the jacket, and definitely harder to conceal when out of riding gear.  So, bought the 3"/3" Judge.  That's some pretty good firepower, but not as accurate as my semi.  Not impressed with the long colt .45 for 10 yard accuracy (groups at 7 o'clock), but sure do like the shotgun rounds available.  Again, ok to carry under the leather, but another bulky one for concealed use.  I guess I'll use it for in the Montana woods for a bear/cat/snake gun!  My older son, a police officer, likes his .40 cal Glock a lot.  Simple, clean lines.  I need to look a little closer for a true concealed piece.  The more you buy, the more you need to fire and train.....which isn't so bad!

Take a look at the SIG 239.  I want something that puts whatever I am shooting at down for the count.  It fits great in the cargo pocket of my Harley cargo pants and in the regular pocket of my jeans.  I wear a loose fitting pair so no problem with printing.  Also fits in the pocket of all of my riding jackets.  Leather, Mesh, First Gear TPG and regular light jackets.

Is the 239 available in 357sig?
I carry the 229 but like Resbiker said, it is a little bulky.

I'll second the Sig 239. I carry the 40 cal. It's available in 9mm and 357 sig also.
Very well made firearm and the grip fits my big meat hooks. I don't think you'll
be disappointed with pistol.

Skippy
As you know all my bikes shine and their all ridden.
Anyone can have a shiny bike if it gets more miles in a trailer than on the road.
What can shine will shine, even the ridden bikes.
But that only happens at the SBB Inn, Garage and Detail Shop.
Would love to help your SERG shine even more than it already does, in fact I enjoy cleaning and polishing on Jim's (Screamin) bike every time we get the pleasure of a visit from him.
Wednesday is booked for me but Thursday is open.
You have the number.

Gonna go shoot a Glock .45 cal model 36 tomorrow.  Heard they are hard to get. It looks like an ideal carry.  Anyone else have an opinion?

Good choice Resbiker.
Go back one page and read my post #1185 and the next couple of posts for info on carrying the Glock model 36.
