Nice ride hoist.
Say how is it ride with those bad boys on the bike. Is it hard to get used to the ride of the apes. I have never had the aes on a roadking before. Is the 12.5 to high for starters? Just hate to make a mistake and have to redo..

Oh yeah, installing a set of apes and then finding yourself doing the whole thing over again in a few weeks would just suck; really.  Wouldn't it Howie.... :huepfenlol2: ?

kinda subjective question....... how tall are you? how long are your arms? i've been running 10's for a couple years now and it works well for me ( see pics in sig. ). do you have access to any riders who have either 10's or 12.5's that will ley you take a test ride? seat shape and thinkness will also be a big factor

You got that right Don!

Definitely try both to see which is better for you. I started with the 10's, then had to switch to the 12.5's. I'm 5-9, and my hands are just slightly below my shoulders. That's how I like it. If you want your arms lower, go with the 10's. But I love that riding position. The first thing I do on a RK is loose the Schwinn Bars! ;)

Screamking, fwiw Howie and I are about the same height.  When I sat on his bike with the 10s they felt great to me.  I've not sat it yet since he got the 12s on it so can't make the comparison.  A little difference can feel like a lot to a set of aching shoulder or wrists several hours in to a riding day though.  So it's worth it to try and find a bike with something similar installed and get to feel it if you can.

Wow, I'm the same height and mine are below my waist!  Is it tough to find shirts, Hoist?

I'm 6'1" and I run 12.5 Wild 1's. I had 18's on my Fatboy and my hands would fall asleep on long jaunts. In my opinion your hands should be comfortably below or at your shoulders. Apes area great look but they aren't for everyone. My .02 . Later,Q

Thanks guys for the replys. I am 6'0 and plan on hopefully getting this stupid seat from corbin so that was going to be my setup. Looks like 12.5 is the answer maybe but im going to look around locally for somme 10 just to make sure. Thanks for the help.
