BC Gerolomy mods package
« on: March 11, 2005, 11:31:35 AM »

I phoned BC Gerolomy last week and Barry himself answered the phone. He was most helpful and was free with his time and advise. He recomended that I spoke to his man, Mark, for an accurate quote.

I phoned Mark this week and he spend ages with me to ensure that I understood what he was sugesting to achieve 120 TQ. My parts list from BC Gerolomy is;

CNC on heads for porting and compression to 10:1 - $727.25
Dual Flow Throttle Body DF50 - $495
Daytona Twin Tec & WEGO kit - $695
Top End Gasket Kit  C9780 - $86.49
TW6HG Cam - $390
S&S Gear Drive 33-4275 - $365.74
Installation Kit 288902 - $26.54
Machining of Rocker Boxes BC41 for Clearance - $80
Billet Cam Support Plate D10215 - $332.98
S&S Push Rod Kit 93-5095 - $180.85
OF522R Over Flow Air Filter - $90

I was suspicious when he was recommending everything from his company. (ie. BC Gerolomy Over Flow Filter  as opposed to the SE High flow, V&H Pro 1 instead of Thunderheader). However as he has highlighted that he doesn

Tony,

I have seen their work and you will be pleased.  They are going to accomplish much of what you seek in conjunction with the wrenches at the dealership with the finals in the tuning and tweaking left up to the mechanic running the dyno.

The 6hg likes 10.5:1 compression ..so you will be a little off on max low rpm torque output that the cam is capable of...but it's a big motor and will be better than what you have .......stock springs are good to .575 lift..you will have .590...H-d springs have about a .020 fudge factor so you will probably be ok....dont need the support plate..stock one is perfectly ok...finally..the 6hg is VERY noisy due to the extreme ramps on the lobes...even with a Baisley spring(which you should install for $12.00 us) its going to be noisy especailly with a windhield/fairing bike.

I have a shop close to BC Gerolamy and had them do my heads - int. = 1.94, exh.= 1.57, match bore intake, and bore my stock throttle body on my 03 SE deuce. I ended up with 116.5 hp and 114 ft/lbs SAE. Which I believe at sea level is about 3% lower than STD.  So STD I'm pretty close to 120hp na117 ft/lbs.. The build: BC Heads to accomodate .590 lift Woods TW8G cam, decked for 10.5:1 compression w/compression releases, S&S Gear drive, Bored stock Throttle body to 48mm, JE 10.25:1 Pistons, Crane timesaver push rods, feuling oil pump & lifters, Rivera Pro Clutch, SE Race Tuner.

Gerloamy does very good work and is very knowlegdeable. I believe he designed the edelbrock heads and intake. I'm currently putting together a bike with an S&S 124" that I had Cycle-rama out of florida do. It's got a "D" carb, 12.0:1 compression, and a .670 lift cam in it. I can't vouch for them yet as I haven't ran it. But when I do I will definitely let you all know.
