At the end of the day, I'm probably just going to do the Clearview.  I'm impressed enough with the way that the Eurolip works with the one on the SEEG that it's tough to think about doing anything else.  Still maintains a stock look, too, more so that these two options.  (Gotta keep Gary, the "Mod Police," off my a$$. ;) :D)

Hmmm, recall you were going to stay "stock", now that has become "stock look", which opens up the field quite a bit.  Chrome, cams and Rineharts are next in preparation for meeting OTIS in MV 08. ;)

That's good info.  :2vrolijk_21:

Does the aero lip on any of these shields allow you to shorten the height of the shield in comparison to a standard shield?

Not sure what Trask Performance's or Klock Werks' claims are, but Clearview says their "recurve" is like adding 2" of height.  I think most of us here would agree with that.

I'll use the 2" as a standard when looking at the various shields. A good looking shield is what my bike lacks. I just can't give up the wind protection for vanity. ;) ;D

Having one of the end caps to begin with will give all the dimensional information necessary for fitment.  Let a decent machinist have it with a sketch of what what you want and he could one-off a set from billet.

Might even touch base with Eastern Performance in Maryland.  They already offer a few different end caps for the Rineharts.  If they could be convinced a market existed it might be something else they'd cut to add to their current pieces.

Did you see my pipes hanging from the ceiling in the garage?
Now, everytime I go out there I look up and wonder how those tips would perform on a set of Rineharts!

Someday if I ever get off restriction I may find out.

The simple answer is NO!

The rest of the story is that the bikes showed 468 miles on the odometer but the tires had no tits. The tires looked to be about 1/2 worn down. Craig (lilbear) looked at it for me and pointed out some other issues. Bottom line was the bike wasn't what it was portrayed to be!
So we passed!

I ordered the 8" black Klock Werks windshield today.  :) It should be here Tuesday  :2vrolijk_21: However it may be awhile before I get a chance to test it. I was torn between the 8" and the 12". I couldn't find any pictures of the 12" to try and gauge where it is going to sit as far as my eyeline. I emailed John from Klock Werks and here is his response.

With your new windshields and the curved top what would be your best guess as to what the curve may simulate height wise. Ex. does a 8" curved windshield simulate a 10" standard windshield, or does the curved top and contoured shield offer even greater protection.

Mike, the windshield offers greater wind protection than a standard 10” windshield. I am 5’11” and test ride our customer’s bikes with the 8” and have no wind issues wearing standard sunglasses, the wind is moved around the “hips” of the windshield and then off the lip up and over your head, on me it hits about the top of the helmet.

I have seen a couple of bikes posted with Klock Werks windshields on them, most common is the burnt orange/red bike and the blue bike with silver stripes. What size windshields are these bikes running?

Mike, those are both 8”

Please post some pictures when you get it on and of course a ride report as soon as you can get one!

Thanks!!
