I have a pair of Tony Lama's that have lasted thru 3 bikes. Had a rubber sole put on for traction. I bet they have 75K miles on them. And they feel as good today as when I bought them!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Danner boots! They're lined with Gore-Tex to keep your feet dry and great when off the bike. I also use them for hunting.

Comfort should be #1...when walking...and as was said..they should wick moisture to keep your feet dry...you can't go wrong with Danner or Red Wing for quality

I got a pair of HD boots.  Love em!  Surprisingly, they are  pretty comfortable to walk in.  Went to Copper Falls last year, walked about a 2 mile route.  No problems.

Got a couple of lace up H.D.s and like em a lot. One's just over the ankle and the other is a couple of inches taller.  An inside zipper would be a good thing and my next one's, if the day ever comes, will have the zipper as well as laces. Both have a cushioned strip around the top and that eases walking and avoids tearing up my calf. Next one's will have that too.

Check out the 1116 Red Wings.
Great for riding and not to bad for the walking.
But I must say I do like the Danner  Boot
Striker side zip gtx 8" Made for both riding and walking.
Check out www.danner.com
Military/police section
It will cost $$$ more then the Red Wings... but what a boot...
Gander Mnt. may have Striker gtx without the zipper.
Hope you find what you are looking for.

i wanna keep my eye on a taller boot to  protect my shins,,I had a rock come up and hit my leg ...ouch lol
i use a H-D boot now and it's a good boot but it's cut low, more like a high top boot.
i'm thinkin on a 11in tall or a 12in
a set that i can resoul would be a +
nothin like havin a trusty set of boots that wear  right
i'll check the danner boots too..Thanx                              [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I have bought many $200 pairs of Danner boots.  I climb communications towers. They never lasted long and I would take them back under warranty within 6 months for replacements (stitching breaks and boots leak).  I quit buying them.  Now I were H-D boots (not waterproof) that cost just over $100 and last just as long as any other boots I have worn including Red Wings.

Mr WeCVO has a pair of Cruiserworks http://www.cruiserworks.com/products.html#anchor-tourboot and he absolutely loves them and highly endorses them.

I have a 7 year old pair of HD lace up zipper boots...love them but they are on their last leg  [smiley=laugh.gif] and the new ones do not come in wide width.

Lace up boots allow for perfect fit and the zipper allows for quick removal.

On my second pair of Cruiserworks, I have sent the first pair back to them for resoleing.  I thinkd the cost was about $30 and that will give basicly a new pair when the ones I have now wear out.  These boots are very comfortable and best of all are completely water proof.  Did a 9 day tour of the east last summer and spent 5 of those days riding in the rain, never once did I ever have wet feet.  Highly reccommended.
