Where are FXR4 values at these days?
« on: December 29, 2007, 09:49:59 PM »

Just wondered if anyone knows what the going price is for a clean FXR4, in yellow?  I ran across an all original, 8,700 mile one today.  The yellow is the highest production of all the CVO FXRs and I'd rather have the lowest production, a blue '99, but this one is clean enough that it's teasing me a little.

There were two on ebay last week.  One with 2100 miles had a buy it now of $10,900.  Made me sick, as I paid more than that last year with 1600 miles.  The guy said he had some health issues.  The other one, as I remember was in the $12,000 range with 7-8000 miles on it.

Thanks for the reply, John!  They are wanting $10,495 for this particular bike, which I thought was probably not too bad a deal.  I think the auctions you saw recently backs that up.  If I wasn't just coming off buying the SERG a little over 3 mos. ago, I'd probably jump on this bike.  As it is, I think I'll just hold out for that blue flame '99 I hope to have some day.

So, if anyone is interested, there's a sweet '00 FXR4 at Coziahr's H-D in Decatur, IL.  8,700 miles and all stock, from what I could tell, except for the V&H staggered duals.

Had a blue '99 FXR3 for three years but sold it in 2005 for $16,500.  Had less than 5k on it.  I had no idea at that time that the blues were such very, very low production.  See green ones all the time but the blues are hard to find.  Should have kept it for sure.

I was looking at the tangerine 4 on eBay earlier tonight.  Got sorta turned off when, in the last sentence, the guy said he would "hunt you down and kill you" if you didn't send him the $500 deposit within 48 hrs. :shocked2: :o ;D

I would definitely be very interested in a mint, low-mile, blue flame 3 if you come across one. :2vrolijk_21:

I've found fxr3 blue flame model available for sale on another web site called hdtrader.com.  bike has little over 4k miles, stock, mint condition. i spoke w/. owner this evening and he has taken very good care of this bike and is including many items along w/ purchase of bike. if you desire a very rare bike 64 built..and great rding bike call him.  Call Lou @513-502-0706 for all the info on this bike.  dave

Wow, it certainly sounds like a pristine bike (http://www.hdtrader.com/1999-FXR3-Dyna_Low_Rider-73850-190), but oh, the price ($18,900)! :shocked2:

Jorge, I'll bet it's an amazing bike!  Go for it, if she lets you.  Unfortunately, the stock market is not cooperating at the moment with my desire to own one of these bikes, so I will have to wait awhile. :-\

I noticed the hdtrader.com ad contains copies of the letter that RedFXR2 was able to obtain from Harley-Davidson showing the FXR production figures by year and color.  That probably means the seller is a member here. :nixweiss:

Jorge, just saw where this bike is also on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Harley-Davidson-Dyna-FXR-FXR3-BLUE-FLAME-HARLEY-DAVIDSON-FXR3-BLUE-FLAME-RARE-CVO-BIKE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ49993QQihZ016QQitemZ260203132428QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Lots of good photos there.

Nice bike Brian....I would love to have it!!...........Did you notice that no bids received? So it's the oportunity to make an offer and maybe the owner won't refuse......let's see what I can do...... :confused5:
