which stage kit are you looing at?

stage one reuses your stock cams stage 2 includes the SE-203 cams that came stock in the 02 SERK that alone should get you about 15ft-lbs and 15HP how much more you looking for?

I recently built the stock 88" on my FLHTCUI to a 95" and all I can say is WOW!!. My set up consists of the 95" kit, SE heads, S&S gear drive with 570 cams, power commander, Vance & Hines propipe, stage 1 breather, high flow oil pump, and high output starter. What a great running combonation....82 HP @ 2000 RPM and 85 HP @ 5800. The power was still climbing but the good ole rev limiter stopped the show.

I'm going with :
HTCC Heads and manifold
10 to 1 Forged pistons
High tensile cyl studs /high comp head gasket
Andrews TW26G gear drive cam
34 tooth overdrive primary
SE clutch kit
mines a carb bike so will be using an HSR 42

This should be good for roughly 100+hp /tq

Dr. Evil,

I would recommend that you go with 10.5 to 1 forged pistons and use compression releases so your not hard on the starter.  You do not need a high speed starter just a harley battery and harley standard starter it spins faster than the after market ones.  This was proved to me by the guys from S&S with my 124 motor.   The stock starter / harley battery turned it over faster than a high torque starter will so dont buy into the Torque deal its a lot slower and doesnt allow the bike to fire as well.

I would have my stock harley heads worked on its not worth buying the HTCC heads or the cnc ported heads as you will not see the gain you would expect for the cost and they can differ greatly in the quality control as well as they have a high spring tension.   Also helps you keep the sleeper look.  (Some head guys like to put their name on the outside personally I do not want this if they want to grind their name on the inside great but leave the exterior of my heads alone)

I would use the 251 cam personally over the 203,204, or 211.  I do not like the 211 cam as it comes on at about 3500 was sluggish for me till there and ran out quickly at about 5300 rpm.  The 251 pulled steadily for me all the way to 5300 from about 2000.

The 204 was a great torque cam, but has nothing really in top end it dies significantly after about 4800 rpm.

If you are going Gear Drive the Andrews 55g cam or the S&S 570 cam are both good choices.

Personally, if your looking for performance I would not use the VH pipes, I would suggest looking at a 2 into 1 like Thunder Header, D&D Fat Cat, White Bros E Series pipe.   If you don't like the 2 into 1 look then you could also look at the thunder header with the heat shields and fake 2nd pipe to continue on with a true dual look.
Power Commander over Race Tuner if this is a EFI bike.

I would also look into using a S&S Reed Valve for oil flow.   They will already be taking out the cams anyhow its not much more to put this behind the oil pump at that point.

If you stay with a Harley Cam you will want the perfect fit pushrods vs adjustable ones.

I would recommend new lifters since your doing all this (Jim's or S&S or Zippers)

For headwork you can use

Cycle Rama (Wes), Small Block Charlie (Charlie), Street to Strip (Cliff), STD, Redman Racing (Allan).

you may also consider if its an EFI to bore out your throttle body a bit to allow for more air / fuel flow the stock one is a bit limiting and you can get it done for about $325 dollars plus shipping.

I would also recommend a Rivera Pro Clutch.

Break out the check book :)

Ill second that...the checkbook will indeed get a workout. As for the combination, in my "02" I used HTCC Heads, non ported version, 10.5:1 HTCC pistons. I also used 211-cams for this combination, however, I do not recommend them. I put together a friends combination with the 251s and conquer, they pull much lower and still offer good top end #s. My combination yeilded 96hp, 102tq, the other with 251s yeilded 98hp, 99tq, with the curve starting much lower. As for the decompression releases, I highly recommend them. While the HD starter has no problem turning over the 10.5:1s, when cold...When she gets warm, the increased resistance in the starter will drain the cranking voltage down to the threshold of the ignition and it will kickback on the starter...which only means bad things to come.

The bike was cool to ride, I actually miss it. The HTCC combination was a much different ride than the 103" that was in my "03" SERK and "05" SEEG.

Good Luck...

Michael

If your 95" combination only yielded 96 H/P and 102 Torque it wasn't up to it's potential.
Nancy's Lowrider is 95" and 101 H/P and 105 Torque and it has the 211 cams.
The dyno sheet is posted in the dyno section!
Read the Maggie Valley thread to find out how fast it was.
YUP, it's a lot faster than my Mustang!

And that's with stock heads that have been massaged a little!
As she says "A woman can never have too much horsepower"

Would love for you and the misses to come to the next Maggie Valley CVO rally!
