What about the little "V" emblem, I just saw on e on a bike, I believe it might have been a 2004 SE road king, not sure. The emblem looked right at place covering the bolt.

I think the one you're talking about is the one shown on Mobe's bike a few posts back in this thread.  It really does look good there.  Almost wish I'd thought of it before hanging the concho.  It's the right size and just looks right.  Even if it is a Road King emblem. [smiley=7.gif]

1/8" piece of plexi, cut to size and then just slipped in between the SBTOF and the license plate holder RBBB (rubber baby buggy bumper).

my favorite, since I don't seem to be able to find flames or roses is the Bar and Shield with Wings.

Porthole2, that looks real good.  I'd think you might be going for the FireFighter medallion.

Other than just cleaning up the not so pretty, is there a functional need to replace the SBTORF?

This is how I covered it up for now.

I actually ended up just leaving off the entire lower section of the licence plate bracket and the RBBB along with it.  I've got the chrome ring around the license plate and with it, the plate itself and the upper frame section all bolted together there is not nearly enough flex there for any part of the lower section of frame or plate to come close to touching the bike.

On mine the lower half of the license frame protruded below the plate just a bit.  Wasn't really a problem but for some reason it annoyed me.  Now it looks a bit cleaner.  The only way anything would ever touch down there is if someone is pushing the bike by hand by pushing on the bottom half of the license plate.
