Has anyone installed a 140 rear on a 'Glide
« on: April 08, 2005, 09:43:48 PM »

I was wondering if anyone has installed a 140 rear on an ElectraGlide and if there were any problems with the install, in other words, can it be done without mods? Thanks in advance.

Yeah, 'er 'uh, Y2KFLH,
No worries!  Looks better than the 130, but wears the same! [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  Dunlop is the best in my opinion.  Later--HUBBARD

Don't you people have a HD catalog? ALL dressers have had the 85u or 143MM tire since the '04's came out. If you don't believe me, why not just look at one. All 04'and '05's have a 140 rear tire.

Thanks for all the feedback, My bike is a '00 model. The rear tire I'd like to install is a Dunlop D402 in the new size...MU85B16.  Dunlop's spec shows it as 5.51" wide, as opposed to the stock width of 5.20". Now you have all the info. I feel that the new size tire should fit; with the stock tire, it looks as if  there is enough clearance for the added width.

Hell no.  Can't ride a catalog.  Catalogs are what the net is for.

DW. I would suggest not eating Cheerios anymore. Someone keeps peeing in them. That's got to be the only logical explanation of why you continually belittle members of this site.

Thanks everyone, I looked at my clearance this weekend, it really looks like the  space between the belt and the tire is only about 1/8 inch. I'm sceptical that an MU tire will fit without rubbing, so, I'm not going to go up to the 140. My guess ? something has changed in the swingarm  geometry on the '04 model. I do appreciate the positive feedback and sincere help I've received, I feel that I have been welcomed into this forum.
