At work today, a guy had some music playing through the computer's speakers, no radio, so I asked what he was listening to. He said it was
http://radio.msn.com/ and said, "It's really cool." I like to listen to music while I'm working or on the site here, so I thought I'd give it a try. It is "really cool" in that you type in the name of your favorite artist, song or composer, and it creates a "radio station" with songs from that artist and similar artists. I've tried it on a few genres such as jazz, blues, and country and it does an amazing job of staying on track with very similar styles of music as whatever artist, for example, that you chose to start with. As it is playing, you can give a "thumbs up" or "thumbs down" to let the program know if it's doing a good job or straying a bit from what you had in mind. 3 or 4 thumbs down during the first 20 or so songs and I never had to touch the thing again, so far.
Just thought I'd make you all aware in case your interested. I used to log on to my Sirius account and listen to my favorite stations there, but this is totally talk-free and I actually enjoy the selections it comes up with better than what Sirius' play list is. Give it a try!
