Rumors include Charlie Crist - Florida guv - on his short list for VP.  Would not make conservatives happy, but Charlie has lots in common re: political views with Mc Cain.

Huckabee is a maybe.  Too bad it most likely won't be Condoleeza Rice......

Possibly.  She is a very smart woman, knows enough about foreign policy to put most everyone else to shame, & is quite articulate with a wicked sense of humor at times.  Not a chance in hell she would get the nod & somewhat doubtful she would accept it if offered.

Watching her speak during Congressional hearings on CSPAN is a guilty pleasure of mine.  She thinks circles around the goofs (congressional seat warmers) asking her questions.

I agree, she is scarry smart and would represent us well. She really doesn't want us to go back to the mideast again and unlike Powell would not pull us out before the job is done. Doc

Well put Dr Rice seems to out perform most of her contemporaries by a very wide margin. I too love to listen to her speak and enjoy her display of intellectual genius. Too bad she's more interested in the NFL Commisionership!!

The presidential race always drags, or coattails, congressional and senate candidates along with them.
Although guilty of just cutting and pasting as some on this site have pointed out, think about how H or O will change the balance of power that already favors the democrats. I keep a news channel on while in the office and despise the amount of attention given to athletes who take steroids and what Spears is doing. Have you ever noticed the number of people sitting around and who are getting paid by the taxpayer while this goes on day after day? Read this quote from President Bush about the vote Nancy Pelosi totally ignored:

"Because Congress failed to act, it will be harder for our government to keep you safe from terrorist attack... House leaders chose politics over protecting the country -- and our country is at greater risk as a result."

Exactly what did Pelosi and her liberal cohorts do to put our country at greater risk of terrorist attacks?

Specifically, Pelosi REFUSED to allow a vote to renew the Protect America Act -- WHICH EXPIRED ON SATURDAY... a law that is essential for our nation's intelligence capabilities to protect the homeland!

But that's not all!  After refusing to bring the Protect America Act up for a vote, Pelosi adjourned Congress and left town!

Last week, Congress wasted our time and taxpayer money interrogating baseball players about steroid use, but they were just too doggone busy to take up a bill that could save American lives!

Imagine this..................tell me one thing Obama or Hillary have done to make America better, or safer, or more prosperous.  Change...........What change?  What's the plan?  More SSI?  More Affimative Action?  Less Military?  More TAXES?  Hell, 52% of the Population is Government dependent now.  What laws have they presented or passed, that has benefited America in general, in the past, or present?  Produce 'em.  Any takers?  Didn't think so.  Any body that would vote for either one of these two political wanna-be, con-artist, carnival barker a$$holes, has little, or no knowledge, of what these two Anti-American Socialist are made of, not to mention what makes America tick.  Get a Grip!  Do your research.  Do your duty.  Hell, I could get more done for us than they could, and wouldn't have to spend one dollar.  There enedth the lesson.  Later--HUBBARD

And I s'pose it's OK that McCain couldn't keep his zipper zipped because it's alright when a Repubican screws around on the wife.  >:(

Brian, nobody knows for sure but his hairdresser.  But nothing I've read has even suggested confirmation he was screwing around.  It has, however, suggested he was real tight with a lobbyist who also happened to be a woman.

Given the man's history that fits too.  His personal history isn't one of promiscuity.  It is one of too often being too tight with lobbyists and others dealing influence.  That's (basically) what got his ass in trouble as far back as Keating 5.  He has often walked that line very very closely.
