AJ's 3rd gasket set
« on: February 15, 2008, 09:17:49 PM »

These are some pictures of my 3rd gasket set being installed. The first picture shows how the valve hits the rocker covers. They obviously have never been "clearanced" before.

Here you can see how it hits and why it has been making "noise"

I was told that this was "normal"

Soooo, who is doing your 3rd rebuild that thinks that is "normal"?   ???

That comment would scare me just a bit....

Maybe normal for a motor that has been burning oil for awhile...

Hey, that's it - for a motor that has had three head gaskets fail - it is normal.....

But for a "normal" motor - that would not be "normal"...

All in the perspective, I guess!

Now, this is where it gets "scary"! This is "normal" carbon build-up.

The redish color is just oil that I did not wipe off but the burnt black stuff is the carbon build-up.
