And you still have to buy a box to put them in. :'(

I'm back to my original statement.... I'll have to start working on bikes for a living to afford tools. :(

For insurance purposes I have a full inventory of both home and work boxes. Work value $30,000    Home value $20,000     30 years as a mechanic and still adding to the collections. I feed the family with these little hand tools, so I need what I need. Stole a Snap-On 1001 box off ebay for $2,500! That's a $7,500 box! Snap-On dealer offered me $4,000 as soon as I got it to my shop and he saw it. Had a custom cover made for it with a Bar and Shield on the back side. Like I said, Pictures next week.
And Don, I had to scan the flier from the Matco dealer for the picture I used, couldn't get anything from the web site.  Dave

One minute and I built an 18000 toolbox, you got to be kidding.

I don't see how the techs can do it anymore.

I for one am glad all of my tools are now in my garage or on the boat and that my employer now supplies all the tools I need  :2vrolijk_21:

And I get to wreck stuff with almost each one of them  :huepfenjump3:

Hard to believe the cost of the boxes now. I paid $180 for my first Snap On top box 30+ years ago and it was built better then the stuff put out today.

My Craftsman will look fine with a few SE stickers stuck on it.   I'm just cheap in some areas and these toolboxes are one of them.

Costco, nice deal on a set of stainless steel with great bb guides. Then head to Sears to stock it and you'll be many $$$$$$ ahead. Snap on prices are absolutely nuts now. Didn't I hear somewhere Snap on makes the same tools under another brandname for Home Depot or Lowes? Might be Cobalt. :nixweiss:

That stainless at Costco is a good deal, but for home use. For a professional garage these wouldn't hold up. I have thought of selling my home Snap-On and getting one of those, still pocketing a grand or more. When you use these tools daily you will see the quality differences, some tools you just can't buy at Harbor Fright and expect them to last. When they feed your family and your habit you need the best for both.  Dave

I agree, I used to have about 5 or 6 Sears carry boxes with tools scattered all over the place. Spent more time looking for tools when I needed them than getting anything else done, especially when one of the kids grabbed something to work on a bike or skateboard and then leave the tool either in the yard or on the driveway for me to pickup. Just to get one place to organize my tools and have a lock that would keep hands out of the tools was pure heaven to me. You are right, this box is not a real quality piece but for my needs and budget, it's a 10. Plus it's real shinny.  ;D

But, for the price difference you could easily buy 6 or more of the Costco boxes and put a new box in service every couple of years :2vrolijk_21:

Thinking the same thing, only thing stopping me is the depth, my Mac boxes are much deeper.

You can't buy anything from there and expect it to last, flea market junk

Yes, but in the same respect you could buy 3 Gold Wings for the cost of a FLHTCUSE and have one spare while the other is in the shop.
