My better half is all of 5'3" and 110lbs soaking wet.  She started out riding a 250 Honda Rebel in '98 and within 2 years moved to a Dyna Low Rider and after 4 years riding that moved to an Ultra and never looked back... She loves her bike.

Although even she would admit that a long day in the saddle sometimes requires a nap, and she is often quilty of using her ride for a quick 40 winks!

PS - And yes, she has ridden "her" bike through all those Provinces and States along side of me over the past 12 years.

She is definately my very best riding buddy!

It's really great to see more and more women riding their own. When our group rode to Sturgis this year from the west coast, we had 13 bikes of which 5 were girls.  :orange:

This thread is a perfect example for those women that think the only thing they can handle is a "Sporty".  I have found from experience that the heavier touring bike's require less effort to get down the road.  Yes, sometimes we need to lower them, switch seats for reach and comfort, change the handlebars to help with the reach and smile  ::) a lot to get a push when parking!  But they are IMO the sweetest bike's Harley makes and I encourage all women riders to not dismiss them when shopping because they "look to BIG".   :gorgeous:

since the FLD was introduced earlier this year already 4 girls in our group switched to it from Sporties, Wide Glide and Street Bob. The FLD seems to be a valid alternative and perhaps should be added to this poll.

Well said LovemyCVOgirl. This is exactly what I have discovered as well. Although I can handle this new CVORG, I am just starting the process of fitting this bike to my size. I need to lower about an inch and I should be perfect. I am going to start with a seat mod and this should get me to where I want to be. Ride on gals.  :)
