Bassani Pro Street Pipes with Black Graphite Heat
« on: April 27, 2005, 05:16:03 PM »

I had the black pipes installed last fall.  I was experimenting with the hi-heat wrap and man do I like it.  I can't believe how much cooler it is on the legs.

Not of the pipes, but just a good shot.

that is one awesome ride man - excellent job and the wrap is very clean looking - does not (in my humble opinion) distract from youe ride - bit it is your ride - and if you  [smiley=1syellow1.gif]like it  - that is what is important

Yes your heat wrap looks good and it does help keep your legs to stay cool. Another advantage of the wrap has to do with thermal dynamics. The wrap helps scavange exhaust thats produced by the cylinders by keeping the heat inside the pipe. Theory has it that the hot gases flow faster through the exhaust system than cooler gases would. The heat from the exhaust in not radiated outward since its contained in the pipe by the wrap. Ceramic coated pipes also help do this.

The pipes also have the ceramic coating on the inside (Jethot).  I have noticed a bit of difference, but nothing too drastic.  My right boot heel would rest on the forward pipe and leave marks (which were tought to get off the black), this now is a cooloer ride, protects from boot marks and IMHO, looks real cool.  The pictures make the black graphite look lighter than it is.  It still looks black in person.

Thanks for the compliments.
