103 Pistons/stroke
« on: April 29, 2005, 08:36:35 PM »

Having just aquired a new seeg, I have some friends that have ridden with me off and on for almost 40 years that raised a question in my mind.  The short skirted pistons used in the 103 to acheive the longer stroke have had problems in the past with built bikes.  Namely, that they start to show there age between 35k and 50k mi.  Has anyone out there put enough miles on their ride to know whether this is a common problem or not?
The pistons have to be replaced with the same skirt length to maintain the clearance.
Any riders out there that have enough experience with strokers to fill me in?

Why take the easy road?  I prefer to come
to a stop slidin' in sidways, hangin' on
for dear life, just so I am able to say;
"Man what a ride!"
