Tony, looks like your mirrors are different.  Mine came with the bullet mirrors listed on page 612 of the p& A catalog.  Yours look like the stock tapered mirrors.  I wonder if its because the EEU requires them?

Great photos.  Hope you enjoy your bike as much as I do mine.

Dan,

Yes the laws over here do not allow the SEEG US mirrors. We also lose the garage door openers (which is irritating) . We also gain a CAT.

However our bikes go faster because we are a tad crazy!  [smiley=hat.gif]

Tony,

After spending 2 weeks in the London area this past summer I KNOW you guys are crazy.

Most of the roads are barely big enough for bikes, let alone cars….

Although you do have some awesome pubs and scenery and I picked up a couple of “Dorking” tee shirts.

Congrats and good luck with the new bike, wish I had took pictures of the uncrating.
Cheers

You lose the garage door opener?  Unlicensed or otherwise busy frequency there that is used by US garage door openers?  If not, then what's the deal?

Want someone to pick one up for you and mail it over?

2Lane,

All radio devices are licenced onto different frequencies here. American cordless phones, CBs and remotes reside on the wrong radio bands for here. If you don't watch out your CB can crash a remote controled boat!

I guess that I will just carry my conventional door opener that I useually have in the car. UNLESS you are going to tell me that there is some super-slick button arrangement on the hand controls that make it a must have.

The unit does work off the hand control Tony, but it's not via any addition that you see.  The receiver is just a simple "normal" garage door receiver that plugs in to a normal AC outlet (oops, there's a problem) and wires to the same two pins on your opener that a push button would.  The transmitter is about half the thickness of and roughly the same width and length of a cigarette package and is triggered from the headlight switch.  You just quickly rocker the high beam on and off and your garage door opens.

I'd actually love to know who the OE manufacturer for the garage door kits are.  Then with the same transmitter on the bike we could pick up some (likely) far less expensive receiver at a home center and let the bike run more doors if such would be convenient.

Now there's a job for my auto-electrician ... wire my headlamp flasher to activate my door opener!

This thread from one of my previous questions shows the garage door opener (transmitter) and the name, along with a link to the company.

Thanks Porthole.  I'd missed that previously.  Now a bit of homework will be in order to see if that manufacturer shares a frequency/code set with some other garage door opener manufacturer.
