I joined the leaking head gasket club
« on: April 28, 2008, 12:23:55 PM »

Well after the tour at York Friday we were in the parking lot talking about the head gaskets and when I looked at mine I saw the dirty little bugger just started to leak. Then on the way home it started to rattle and make noise. I think it was the compensator nut on the primary. Took it to the dealer Saturday, see what the news is this week. I think Ozzie was the one you jinxed me when we were talking about it at the plant tour. Thanks buddy. You do know that nobody really wants to be in the "Oh my heads our leeking too" club. Mine was even the front head so I guess that makes mine a little special. You know that way the oil got to leak front to back. Oh well hopefully it will last after the fix.

Lenny sorry about that head gasket bro.  You know you aren't alone.  Not to hijack here but I got home in time with enough daylight to quickly mow the grass.  I started the mower and it blew oil and smoke all over before stalling.  I thought of the 110 and pushed it back in to the shed.  It's a two year old Briggs & Stratton 16HP motor with a pressurized lube system.

I'm really waiting on the inevitable leak.  How many miles you have?  I passed 7,000 yesterday but didn't check when I got home from York.

Too bad, Lenny.  Front head would make you different than the usual.  Both of mine were leaking, so I got a 2fer.

Best of luck getting it fixed & soon!

Mine leaked at 6400 miles.... I got it fixed.  I am now at 12000 miles without any further problems.
