... OK here is my prediction. Willie will use this as an opportunity to get rid of the Road Glide and the 110 all in one big swoop. He did it before with the FXR. The long term economic forcast dictates that its time to trim the line up and after talking to him last summer, he doesn't seem to care about anything except consummer demand or the Road Glide for that matter.  Doc

I think the MoCo will continue with the 110" for a few more years at least...like someone said in another thread, they won't go back to the 103, as that would be an admission on the MoCo's part that the 110 was a failure.  They may bump it up to a 113, but they'd have to change some of the parts, because if I'm not mistaken, the 113 kit, along with the JIMS 120 and 131 are considered, by Harley/EPA standards as "race-only" modifications.  If I'm wrong on that, I apologize.   ;)

Kind of like nobody expected Ford to go back to an unspirited 5.4 in the Harley edition truck after the Supercharged 5.4 in the 02 an 03 MY.  They did and they sold them......no problem.  The 103" motor is a proven motor that continues to work and for the most part, runs circles around the 110.

Even if they do, and given their effectiveness at keeping information on close hold that's a big "if," you wanna bet that the paint schemes from 00 and 01 will still be cooler :mango: ?

...probably won't have shark fins, so our bikes will still be way cooler :2vrolijk_21:  Doc

Ever notice that just about every picture taken of Willie G. riding is taken on a Road Glide?

With the circulation of Americn Bagger and Hot Bike Bagger the Road Glides are gaing popularity. They look WAY cooler than the E-glides when all tricked out. ;D :P ;)

They are a great platform for screaming eagle graphics too. I hope they get it right, but no matter like twolane says the 00 and 01 will still have the coolest colors. Doc

The Harley Pickup is going to sell no matter what they put in it...I actually think they could sell the F150 version with a 6 in it.   ;)  I won't dispute with you the reliability and quality of the 103, it is a great engine, but I don't feel the MoCo thinks that way...they're into image, and by "dropping back" to the 103, even though it may be a better engine, that would not look good for the MoCo as far as their perceived image is concerned.  I may be way out in left field on this, but I think they'll either come out with the "fixed" 110 or an EPA version of a slightly larger engine.  JMHO.

Just a thought.
If it's a race only motor then how has Thunder Mountain been selling bikes for two years with EPA certified Jim's 120 in them? If Thunder Mountain can do it, why can't Harley. Or how about this, Thunder Mountain has been Harley's test bed for two years.

LD is still about $5k from perfection cosmetically - - - - - -  then of course the motor needs to come down and be reborn as a Dave Mackie 113". And by that time, the paint will probably need a redo  sooooooooooo I'm married to my 07 wannabe SERG for life.  :orange:

As to any new offerings from the MoCo, truth be told, I miss Elvis so bad, all I can think about is scratchin together the cash to buy another 03 SERK and building dream bike #2 , or is it #3? maybe #4?  Beagle could tell you, he keeps count  ;)

You know, as long as we have dreams.  You have a great ride, you've had great rides and you will have another great ride around the corner.  You just like to tinker too much for your own pocketbook good.     :D ;)

I think I'd have to agree with you on all points.  My point is just that nobody can count anything out, at this point.  I hope they do have a fix for the 110 right around the corner.  And I'm equally curious what the 09 bagger CVO will be. :2vrolijk_21:

The FXR was a orphan for a long time. The aftermarket ignored it along with the custom builders, but it cought on about the time the factory dropped it. Not long after that there was a limited run of CVO FXR's and thats how it all started. I'm just saying the Road Glide could become a limited run item in the CVO group and dropped from regular production. I agree especially here in SoCal the RG is a popular bike but so was the FXR towards its departure from the line up. Doc
