Not only do you release throttle (if you are using your right hand) you are taking your hand away from 70% of your braking/stopping power if needed in a hurry. However there is no right/wrong way to do it, just whatever works best for the individual.

Thanks for all of your input on placement of Zumo.
I already have a drink holder off of the right controls, put it there so it would not be in the way when fueling.
However I think that I will be handling the Zumo more often when riding than squirting water down my throat.
I will give all of that consideration, and possibly move things around as I get use to the Zumo. :bananarock:

only issue i see is when pressing buttons on the Zumo you either release the throttle
or go across your body with your left hand (or be in cruise)  Left works better for me
Yeah, and I figured if I had to semi-block some gauges, the two on the left (that are inaccurate anyway) are the ones that I would miss less.  I am really bad for messing w/ the Zumo while riding anyway, so the right would be even more dangerous/inconvenient.  :-[ spyder

Hey d00d,

Big R and I installed Zumo 550 last nite.
Your parts list was complete except for a Large Roll of Grey Duct Tape that we needed to hold it all together. :nixweiss:
