Do you mean that with the engine running the volume is too low to hear, or that it stops working?

I once had a similar problem. The issue was the location of the speaker in the helmet. It was not really close to the ear. In a normal environment all worked fine however, once outside noise started i could not hear a thing.

Had this same problem as well as the system locking up my phone, I finally decided to have it removed.  I have heard that nolan helmet system works better.   I even tried to push the little speakers closer to my ear, but putting cotton balls behind them to bring them closer to my ear.  This worked some, but once i got past 45 mph hearing was tough.

What you might try is (I know this will sound crazy but it works) is EAR PLUGS.  It will filters out all the wind noise and you can really hear the radio and unfortunately the phone... I have a J&M in my full face works best.  My Air Rider the mic is poorer than the J&M but the speaker are awsome.  The Harley the mic works very well but the speakers are crap.

My 2¢.

I have the HD BT setup on my bike and love it. Try turning the volume on the phone up. As Harry said, make sure the speakers are close to your ear.

A friend of mine also has HD BT installed and loves it. it works very well for him.

So let us know how you progress with your BT unit - I would love to know if you found what is wrong.

I went to the Harley accesories and I could not find a blue tooth kit. Does anyone have a part number or a web link?

Thanks.

DJ, Harley's description for them was "hands free cell phone" so thought maybe searching by "bluetooth" might have been the problem.  No soap though.  It's just no there at all.  Also didn't find a single one listed on eBay.  Weird.

I've been watching for the last several weeks. I have a problem with mine and am not sure if it's the wiring or the unit itself so I've been looking. The problem with these is, if there is a problem with the unit, there is no one to service them. That's a $500 disposable part!

I did the search with the part number supplied by Fired00d with no luck. I don't have my catalog but I will get it and check page 495.
