Halogen Replacement Bulb
« on: April 08, 2006, 06:36:25 PM »

My headlight is out and I need to replace the halogen bulb. Is it safe to upgrade with one of those PIAA bulbs? I'd like more light than stock but I've heard you can fry your electrical system with the wrong bulb. Anyone know what aftermarket bulbs work with the 2005 SEFB?

First hand experience here. I melted my head light plug with a generic hi watt replacement bulb. After replacing the plug I switched to a set of PIAA's and I haven't had a problem since. The PIAA's are a low watt draw but have a high watt output.

Note:Clean bulb with alcohol after installation to get rid of any grease/oil/dirt or your bulb will have a short life

The spade clips in the headlight plug are crimped to the wire. Remove each wire and solder the crimp. Been running 80-100w bulbs by doing this with no problem .
