Tour Pack Storage
« on: July 27, 2005, 04:43:56 PM »

A while back, someone posted a picture of a wall mount that they fabricated on which to  store their tour pack. I am looking for ideas and I remember this being a pretty good one.

That was probably mine Cat.  Was just some cheap utility grade 2x4 and 1x4 and some steel rod I picked up at Lowes.  Took an hour and a half or so and about 25 bucks total to have both tour paks hanging up on the garage wall.  Here's what they are:

And a little closer view.  The steel rod I coated with a couple thicknesses of heat shrink tubing.

No problem Cat.  The width of the detachable rack is such that the frame can built on 16" centers so hanging it on the wall is no problem.  In fact the only measurement that was at all specific was the span between the front and back rods.  For an 05 detachable rack that span needed to be 4.5" center to center.  04s would be different though and I don't have anything around here anymore to come up with that measurement should someone else need that one (sorry).

I'm not even going to show that to my wife - she would have something hanging from it within two minutes...

Nice design!
