CLUTCH CABLE LEAK

(1/1)

STICKMAN:
I have about 16000 miles on my 02 SERK.  I recently noticed a leak coming from the clutch cable where it goes into the clutch housing.  On further inspection it seems that the fluid is working its way between the metal connector and the plastic shielding.  I figured I may have overfilled the clutch so I drained some.  Not as bad but it still left a drop on the garage floor in the morning after riding it.  I was told that sometimes the Screamin Eagle synthetic fluid will do this where the older tranny fluid won't because the S.E. stuff is thinner.  Lastly my mechanic said that the Harley cables have an O-ring in the cable that is not replaceable and I need a new cable.  (He also said that the new cable will probably leak after six months or so).   ANY IDEAS ?
