Englishman down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: June 25, 2005, 02:43:09 PM »

uh oh!!

took a fall on wednesday night.

The bike hit a parked van sideways and I went over the bars. Helmet scraped (but saved me well), my legs broke the fairing and screen (so they hurt but ain't broken), I have a little road rash on each elbow & knee as well as one shoulder. Only one metacarple got broken.

Could be needing a new frame for the SEEG. [smiley=wall.gif]

Tony I'm sorry to hear about your accident but I'm very happy that you were not hurt any worse than you are.

If you've got good insurance, I'd insist on a new frame.  They gave me a new one after my accident.  It took about eight weeks.  But with broken arm, it'll be about that long, anyway, before you're back on it.

With my new frame, I no longer have the high speed wobble that I had before.  A bike does not have to hit anything very hard at all to knock the neck bearing cups out of round, that's why I insisted on a new frame.......wasn't cause I thought the frame was bent......cause the damage that happens to the neck.

Tony, sorry to hear about the accident and your injury.  The bike will heal faster than you, but I know you're sad to have your new bike all busted up too.  When you say that the bike hit a parked van sideways, do you mean that the bike went into the side of a parked van or glanced off the side of a parked van?  How fast do you think you were going when you hit it?    [smiley=cry2.gif]   spyder

Tony,

Sorry to hear of your fall, was it on a motorway?  Looks like you will be in need of some plasters for some time.  Hope you have a lorry to provide some transportation until the bike is repaired.

If I am you, I am getting pissed about now and waiting for the repairs!!

All the Best Until then,

Jock

Damn Tony, if you hit something as big as a van and went over the bars and broke pieces off the bike with your body as you did so and only broke a bone in your hand you're fine man.  Keep it in conext too, break one metacarpal and you've still got four more to spare  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Really sorry to hear about the incident though.  Even more so as you've only had the bike such a short period of time.  Not sure how you might be seeing things right now.  But were I in your place I'd actually be pleased that I only had to replace bolt on paint or other cosmetic parts and maybe swap a frame as opposed to having busted that engine you spent all that extra money on.

Let the bumps and bruises and the hand heal up.  Then when the time comes remember that bananas are to be ridden and not peeled  [smiley=thumbsup.gif] .  If you need some help stateside finding or ordering a part don't hesitate to give a shout.

Tony, sorry to hear of your misfortune...glad you didn't get more serious injuries...I would insist on a new frame if there is any doubt. A lot of us have been there with one bike or another. Your bike will be as good as new or better. Hang in there.

Tony,

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Good to hear that you're OK (minus the finger...hoping it ain't the one you mine nostrils with)

It's gonna take about a week for you to start really missing your scoot.

This might be a great excuse to go shopping for an "alternate ride"  :)

Mad dogs and Englishman, they feel no pain !  They're rough and tough.  They eat cute little puppies for breakfast.  They don't like cats !  They chase women, drive fast, and eat fried foods !!  Grrrrrrrr !!  If only they weren't for some screwy reason now apparently ashamed to admit they kicked Franco-Spanish ass at Trafalgar  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] .

Hey Tony! [smiley=beerchug.gif]

I'm really sad to hear about your crash. All that time waiting and then this. [smiley=nixweiss.gif] Oh well, it's happened and fortunately LIFE GOES ON!

I'm so glad to hear you are OK. That is the most important thing! We are all only a heartbeat away from eternity.

You ever come to the states and need a ride, my Lil Bananna will be available for ya any time buddy! I will be praying for a speedy recovery on you and your scooter. Bless You Tone

I just checked and Tony (the Englishman) has not posted since 6-25 when he announced his accident. Has anyone heard from him?
