Squeak?
« on: June 26, 2005, 07:22:13 PM »

Occasionally, mostly when it's humid, I hear a squeak coming from (posssibly) the primary upon releasing throttle. It goes away immediately, but I hear it briefly.

Any thoughts?

I had a squeak when I would release the clutch, and then it would seem to go away. I was sure it was coming from the primary. It turned out to be the drive belt.  I noticed that the rear wheel wasn't spaced right. You could look at the bike from behind and the wheel wasn't centered. This was causing the belt to track wrong in the pulleys. It was this way from the factory! I took off the rear wheel, cut the left axel spacer down 1/4" and added 1/4" to the right side. The wheel now is centered with the fender and the belt tracks properly, and no more squeak. It might be worth a look....hj
