Hogtunes again
« on: June 27, 2005, 03:36:49 PM »

Alright, I know these speakers have been discussed many times before but I am confused as to the quality being produced right now? Any recent problems with Hogtunes speakers?

I've had my replacements in for a while now and have not had any problems. I'd recommend them. Even if you do end up with a problem Pez offers a great warranty and quick replacements. Customer service at its best!!

These are fantastic sounding speakers. The owner of the company had done his original  testing on ultras and when he discovered that a small percentage of the CVO bikes started to have problems, he went back to the production line, made modifications, and has used some of the owners here as testers on these bikes.  He is standing behind any that had problems.  I have had none and absolutely love them.  They are a fantastic price, the service and the delivery quality and timeliness is over the top.  I think you will be more than pleasantly surprised.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

HD-Dude, Do you have the MP3 player installed. If so, how is the volume compared to the radio. Right now, I have to turn it up to max with the MP3, Even switched to A.

I do have the MP3. Depending on the file (song) there is a volume difference with it compared to the CD player. Some songs are even louder than the CD. Overall the volume that the Hogtunes produce is louder than the stock speakers.

I haven't had any problems with mine.  Best 100 bucks I've ever spent!  These speakers should be stock on all Electra Glides.  Thanks again Pez. [smiley=dankk2.gif]

For me the speakers would be the second most effective upgrade or most liked or most helpful compared to what they replaced.  First would be the shocks.  The Progressive 440s actually made the bike safer and more pleasant to ride.  The speakers really help in the more pleasant to ride department though.

I have not received a reply from PEZ (using a PM on this site on June 10, 2005) regardinding the third set of mine that failed.  Have not had time to push it further yet.

/Bill

Here is what I asked:

Quote
Pez,

Let me know what you want me to do now that my third set is gone.  I will gladly try one of the new upgraded ones if you want once they start arriving.

I was happy with the sound of this last set and really only had to go to 1/2 - 2/3 volume.   But they still "stopped functioning" properly when in Maggie Valley.  I am back to my stockers right now and miss the hogtunes sound quality.  They have not cut out, but I still wonder if I have a Radio Problem.

might I suggest sending him an email at info@hogtunes.com. He has always responded right away. I'm not sure if he's on this site much.

I know, just figured he would announce here when he gets in his updated stock.

Never enough time...

Mr We's speakers went too - first one then the second just before leaving for the VA State HOG Rally. We contacted Pez and he said;

"Hey there

No matter what--you will be dealt with properly. I see 2 options.

We have had some issue on the SE bikes, so we did a mod to help them take more
power--I would be happy to send a pair of those modded ones out, but they are
not expected till 1st week in July--around the 7th to be exact.

This is a "growing pain" for us as we did all testing on an Ultra which does not
have as high a power rating as the SE bikes radios do--this is our issue not
yours so we want to deal with it like big boys.

If the wait is unacceptable, we can simply issue a full refund. I believe the
upgrade will be fine--I flew 18 over for SE customers --I simply replace them
under warranty with the modded ones--and no issues so far. The balance--we sold
off as SE orders came in.

I believe these options are fair, and in the interest of keeping a good name,
will respect your wishes.

Hope to hear from you soon.
PEZ "

Mine are wonderful.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]Hope this helps some of you out. Pez is an outstanding guy to deal with.  [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Bill, you might give Pez a call.  I read on another site that the re-designed speakers are in and have been sent out.  As of the posting, there haven't been any problems with the new design.

I'll add my .02 cents worth here.  I did have problems with my first set.  They were replaced immediatly.  The second set has been in for months and played at or near full volumne most of the time and not a problem.

Like somebody above mentioned........the best $100 bucks I've spent on this bike.....even considering the problem witht the first set.  Hands down, worth the money, time and effort! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
