Is it possible to smoke pot without becoming a pot head?

Very rare but yes.  I have (had - he moved to a different company) a friend who smoked 2-3 joints a day, 2 kids and wife, very very smart software developer who claimed that helped him relax and believe me, when his dealer got pinched for couple of months, we could not get close to him or talk to him.  The only exception that I know of, all the rest were potheads.

I think he was so messed up on other areas that his pot habit seemed normal to us.
He used to be skinhead, born of a Puertorican father and Jewish mother (WTF).  Quit school in 10th grade, drove a truck for many years until he failed the drug test.  Went back to school and some training and became a JAVA developer.
