Road King seat fitment??
« on: July 06, 2005, 04:30:24 PM »

I put a Road King seat on my '05 SEEG and it fit perfectly EXCEPT the seat rubs on the front corners of the side saddlebags. If I dont do something quick it appears as if the paint will wear through. Has anyone else had this problem? Please help!

I've not noticed that problem on my 04.  But I think just about any decent upholsterer should be able to open the seat cover, notch the plastic seat pan a bit, as necessary and recover......and shouldn't be too much.

Pardon the question Wilber, but if it's rubbing paint why in the world haven't you done something already?  A new pair of painted parts is going to cost a whole lot more than most seats.

I put some clear tape over the painted portion of the saddlebag that is getting rubbed, However, I thought someone else may have a better remedy since the road king seat seems the  be the comfort seat of choice.
