My FXRG jacket is 4.5 years old. This trip to Maggie Valley really gave it he rain gear test. On the way down I did about 400 miles in the rain, and 200 or so was heavy rain. Uncomfortable to ride in but...............................

The jacket did not appear to absorb any water. I still think this is the best leather bike jacket I have ever had (aside form the POS zipper)

The jacket kept me dry.
I use a leather neck warmer to keep the rain out of the top of the jacket.
I have the FXRG boots and my feet stayed dry.

I am also using the Gore Tex rain pants and they also kept me dry.

Only problem I had was the shield fogging up, picked up a Fog City shield liner this week, hopefully I won't need it anymore this year.

So how do you zip these pants to the FXRG jacket, and do you have a video of how you   . . .

;-))))

Ride safely,

The hardest part of my day is putting my socks on.  You don't really expect me to try to zip these things together and try to put them on.   :nixweiss:

Of course if you want the best and $$ is no object, you can get this leather suit from Aerostitch:

The FXRG coat and pants are about $300 less and look a lot nicer.  I think I'll stick with what I've got.  Actually, with the 20% discounts, the FXRG is over $500 less, but maybe there are sources for 20% off the Aerostich also.

:nixweiss: How many times does we gots to tell ya AJ  :2vrolijk_21:  :nixweiss:

I know deep down you don't like it 'cause it ain't got no Screamin Eagle stuff on it

BUT

The back is wide open to sew on whatever you like and the front has a small emblem that can be removed and easily covered up wit your choice of appropriate Eagle goods  :2vrolijk_21:

Go for it  :2vrolijk_21:

It was a long time ago that I started this post, and I now have ridden over 20,000 miles with the fxrg riding gear. It is well worth every penny weather you save 20% or not. The stuff is absolutly incredible and oh yeah it really does double as rain gear. And I particularly like having a squegie on the gloves to clear your facesheild or glasses or whatever you have covering your eyes. This is all tremendously thought out functional riding gear.

I have the leather FXRG suit, helmet , gloves and boots.

the suit is water proof. the boots are water proof, as are the gloves.

I have no experience with the FXRG nylon version.

The only negative with the leather suit is that the leather will soak up some water- which makes the suit weigh more.

The water proof barrier is the liner- so you are wearing a rain suit with your leather suit over that.

It does work, it is warm and it makes an excellent cold weather riding suit-

I have recently begun wearing the Transit suit from Aerostich.  It too is water proof- jacket and pants zip together with a back panel, but it is NOT as warm as the FXRG suit- but as the fit it to your body measurements, it does fit much better. I have long arms, so to buy the FXRG suit that fit my arms, I get a jacket that is a bit to loose around the chest and waste- but that allows for layering I guess.
It is about 1/3 the price, certainly more than half the price of the Transit suit.

my 2 cents.

Where did you get the leather neck warmer? I have a FXRG Coat and have a heck of time keeping the water out.

From my local dealer, not an HD item. The one we have is triangular shaped with Velcro closure tabs to wrap around your neck. The item my dealer carries is a nice soft /supple leather with a fleece lining on the backside. It stays in my saddle bag year round.

I like it because I can wear just around my neck or bring it up high enough to cover my mouth for the rally cold days.
