Saw one of the "Electric Orange and Black" at dealership today. Picture doesn't do the orange justice. It is a lot brighter orange (unlike the picture which looks more copper to me) in person, and that 240 tire is awesome. If only my 6'4" frame could fit it, it would look nice parked next to my "Pumpkin".

I saw the orange yesterday, too.  All I can say is WOW!  That bike is an eye-full!  There is not a surface on that bike that is not either painted that bright orange color or chromed.  It is striking!

Look at one of those and then look at a plain ol' regular V-Rod.  You will swear the two are not even related.  They are not even in the same ballpark, eye-appeal-wise.

D00d, you're right, would make a great companion for the O/B SEEG.  Even has similar red flame pinstriping.

You are so right, My local dealer had an 05 and an 06 sitting next to each other on the showroom floor. The new one has much more eye appeal. It seems "Right". The chrome and that wide rear tire make it a stand-out. The narrow drive belt looks questionable but I guess it is supposed to be made of superior materials.

Has anyone seen the 2006 Scarlet Red Pear/Charcoal Slate colors?  If so, what did you think of them?

I am considering selling one of my bikes and purchasing this model.

In addition, if you own a 2006 model, I would be interested in your thoughts regarding it.

Thanks,

Jock

Ok, I think you got the V-Rod, then went into Hooters and had some wings  ;D My guess is you ordered wings like I always do when I go to Hooters.... "I like my wings like I like my woman... “Hot and Naked". For those of you that have never been to Hooters that is wings w/o breading  ;) BTW, for the longest time "better half" thought I was only going to Hooters for the "visual effect", but after I took her with me on one of my visits she did admit the food was good. When she admitted that my next question was if I get you one of those outfits would you wear it when you cook for me at home. Luckily I asked this when we were on the bike on the way back home. There is something to be said for states that have mandatory helmet laws; they come in handy when you ask your better half to wear a "Hooters" outfit.  [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif]

I just changed the resolution on my phone to take bigger pics, the LGVX8100 is new to me just got it a short time ago and I'm still messing with it. [smiley=worthless.gif] I just ordered the Blue tooth Data transfer software Suite for it so I'll be able to wireless transfer pics and crap. To many times it's the only cam on me.
I got to say I was really impressed with this 06 VRSCE2, of course it was the owner of Harley Davidson Cycle Center, so I'm sure that Walter will do some mods on it.

Jock,
I would say your Rod will diffinitly fullfill the need for speed [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=drink.gif] The side plate hanger will open up the rest of the rear monster tire too :o ;D

MY,

Thanks...In addition I will move towards a 260 tire with no mods necessary when I change tires...the larger rear fender on the 06 takes away from the appearance in my opinion.

YO JOCK,
I got a couple more pics of that VRSCSE2 for you. Ya I'm sure you'll need to increase the tire size on this model for better track control, the original may tend to have lean angle issues at 300mph ;D

Jock,
You know after looking over these pics and thinking more about it, I am thinking seriously of checking into buying one myself ;) The VRSCSE2 has got to be one hellova fun ride, to really get the speed trill out of the switchbacks! Can I get some response back from any owners on this?
I need some imput from you guys to push me over the edge.
Then I'll have to get my SEEG set-up with a trailer hitch to haul the ROD with me to events so I can switch off to the VRSCSE2 to hit the curves at a high rate of speeeeeeeeeeeeeeed :o

Well, got the 500 mile break in today...after that let'er rip...Got to say, this bike will quickly go from 80mph to 120mph to problem...The road I was on would not let me go beyond 127mph and I had more to get from her.  Can't wait to find the peek...

As for the bike, I would not own one as my only source if I had to go to a single bike.  I am fortunate enough to be able to own several motorsickles.

More reviews in the future...

By the way, the Thunderheader has been taken off...the owner put it on to ride around and I traded it for the 16ga Double Barrels...The Thunderheader made it run rough and the nearest Dyno for me is in Daytona...

Jock,
Awesome that you got that pesky 500 mile break-in wrapped up in a flash. The weather must have been nice for you. I had to do the 10 - 16 degree break-in and it sure wasn't easy trying to blow through 500 bRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
I would be right there in the opinion of having it as a second FUN bike, but not as a primary, maybe 25 years ago, not now.
How did you fair after the ride? Having that riders configuration makes my back hurt just looking at it! (Note) I had broken my neck and damaged my back pretty bad in 1981 when my truck broke an airhose to the trailer and had lost it's brakes, and had to sell my Bonneville :'( so that riders position kept me away from thinking about the VROD. I would like to be able to ride one for at least 50 miles to see if it would be a doable thing for me. I'll have to throw that by my dealer  ;D [smiley=ROFLOL.gif] [smiley=mad.gif] [smiley=rolleyes4.gif] [smiley=zroflmao.gif]will more than likely be the response.
Is it running smooth with the double barrels?
Would be real sweet to take both on any CVO gathering to have the option with you.
Best of luck with it, and enjoy the ride bro. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=drink.gif]

I seem to have a nuisance problem with some pretty bad vibrations above 60 mph definitely coming from the engine on vrscse2. I pulled the clutch at 85 and it was smooth as a clock. A little engine revving brought the vibrations back. Our mechanic says it is normal. My rod has a little over 10,000 miles on it and has had all services by the dealer. Any advice or comments would be welcome.

First...10,000 miles on the bike, very nice...As to your concerns, I too own that model, however with much less miles.  I have not experienced the above comments.  Good Luck in your quest.

[smiley=nervous.gif]Thanks for the reply. I've been paying a lot of attention to the vibes from the Rod and since my other ride is now an Ultra it seems even worse. Took the Ultra to Rolling Thunder XIX (my wife can't stand more than an hour or so of the Rod). We traded her '05 Sportster on the Ultra and although I'm proud of the fact that she put 5000 miles on the Sportster in a year I'm glad to have her back behind me. Anyway, getting off the Ultra and on the Rod is like getting out of a Caddy and into a Corvette. Best of both worlds, I guess. Coming up on 3000 miles on the Ultra and nearly 11,000 on the Rod. I have Rineharts on the Rod. Reckon that could have anything to do with the bad vibes? It sounds great although I sometimes feel a little guilty leaving my neighborhood at 6:00 AM. The vibes still seem to be getting a little worse although some of that feel may be in part to the difference between the Ultra and the Rod. It is not a pleasant sensation. Rear view mirrors aren't worth much above 55 and I don't ride much below 55. Kinda reminds me of a '99 Sportster I tried out once. I just don't think it feels right although the mech still says it's normal.

Rineharts...well that helps to explain it...Sound nice and loud, but create a lot of vibration on that bike from what I have been informed.

As to the rear view mirrors, I gave up on just about all HD mirrors years ago.  Do not get me wrong, their is some value, however not like a number of other bikes with little to no vibration.

Just One Guy's Opinion...Good Luck.

I don't think it's NORMAL.  I agree with you on '99 Sporty since I have one, but the mirrors on the Vrod are perfectly functional and very little vibration at 55 or 105!  Mirrors on Sporty are worthless at just about any speed, but I like that bike too.  (Although I'm sure the battery is dead by now since it has not been touched since V came home.)  Call Bill Morris at Earl Small's Service Dept.

Thanks for the input. I also have the Sreamin Eagles from my last Vrod, I think I will put them on for awhile just to check out how they sound with the SE2 and to check out the vibes. I do enjoy my SE2!!!
