Does your SEFB do this
« on: October 14, 2008, 10:15:37 PM »

My 09 SE FB seems do be doing well but I have noticed something and wondered if it is normal.
When accelerating thru the gears I notice a slight vibration (felt thru thru foot pegs) until 2200 rpms where it clears up and runs very smooth. Then at exactly 3000 rpm's the vibration returns and is a good bit more more pronounced. I ride an 08 SG most of the time and it is silky smooth at any rpm. I have no expectations that the Dyna could match the SG for the quality of ride but I do wonder about the vibration, in particular at the 3000 rpm mark. Opinions?

I'm not experiencing any excessive vibration.

This isn't an "excessive" vibration but you do notice it. Not really worried about it as I may have made it sound worse than it is anyway.
Hey Bunkerbeer, as we have the same color bikes I wanted to let you know that I am having a little more paint work done on mine. Should be done by the weekend. I can't post pictures but I can send them individually. As soon as I get it back I'll let you know. Will be curious to see what you think.

harriss48cars,

I have about 200 miles on mine and I feel the same thing around the same RPM range. This is my first Harley after riding crotch rockets for a long time so I thought it was normal.

I also have vibration issues with my FXDFSE I think it is a fat bob thing because it is close to same vibrating I had in my 2008 FXDF.I had 10,000 miles on it when the rear axle bearings let loose I am thinking maybe an issue with bearings!!??I am waiting for snow to fly then it will go to the shop.I have wobble in front end under 50 mph also do you have anything happening with your front end??

It is probably normal.  You are comparing to an '08 Street glide, which has IDS.  The IDS really makes a difference in the vibration you feel, or don't feel.  If you get an opportunity to ride an '06 or '07 Street Glide.  I think you will find you feel much more of the engine vibration.

Ah, so I'm not crazy,,   I feel a random, real low vibration "occasionally" at lower R's, but since I'm still running rich f/break-in, I'm not too concernred. I'm figuring it's either the tread pattern, or secondary belt breaking in. If it did it all the time, I'd be talking to the dealer. Seems mine's happiest running above 2500-2800 r's  a real frikkin tractor, more pull than I'll ever need.

Yep... of course I think it is the best color combo!  Guess the color will be more rare now that they've introduced the O/B   :2vrolijk_21:

re: the Orange/black,,,  "ick,,,"   the musta had a bunch of leftover tin, and an excess of opaque orange.

I sooooooo love mine, and it gets 'OOOooohhhhh's'  everywhere it parks. hte crome gets their attention and the paint makes 'em drool,,  heheheeee

The local dealer tells me that MOCO didn't add a color.  They dropped the yellow and replaced with the O/B.  So if this is true the Yellow CVO Fat Bob will be really rare.

I'm seeing the same thing as far as people drooling over the paint and chrome.
