The Flush Mount LED has a "Gas Pump" light that coes on for low warning. You just wouldn't need that. Now Phil, WHAT WIRING CHANGES? Does ANYONE KNOW? WILL THESE WORK ON THE FXR3?
Hoist!
The internal low fuel light on the gauge itself will work with no mods. The only wires are power (orange), ground (black)and a wire that originates at the sending unit (pink). That's it. The sending unit is a variable resistor. At certaing physical fuel levels, the resistyance value is set into a table. When the resistance level is reached, the appropriate number of LEDs will go out. At some point, the low fuel light comes on. Wiring changes are only needed if you want the speedo low fuel light to work which is not even on your analog speedometer.
My only concern is the mounting to the tank. I've never seen what the metal is like once the gauge is removed. There are some raised nubs or channels that are needed.
