The real question is,
what is Don doing up this early?

 :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss: :nixweiss:

No work today.  Nothing else to do.  And had to get an early start.  It's a long push to get the SERG over to John's house...

What ever you carry please do NOT make the same mistake I did.  Carried mine, allen wrenchs, plyers, adjustable wrench, a multi head screw driver and my fork lock in a leather tool bag mounted below the head light.

Looked ok but apparently everytime the fork compressed, the fender hit the bag which dented it pretty good.  The only repair I tried was the compressed air "dent removal" I saw on a thread somewhere on this site.  Didn't work.

DANG. that ain't good  >:( Carried my tools in the same place you did for 2 years, never thought of that; then last month/this month  :confused5: I mounted a fork brace on the front and now I ain't carrying tool bag there no more (Fork Brace looks to good to cover up), so I'll carry in my bags when they are on and when they ain't I'll just attach tool pouch to the sissy bar  :2vrolijk_21:

So did ya ever get your fender repaired?

I carry the standard issue HD tool kit that comes with the bike - a small assortment of nylon zip-ties - cell phone - and credit/debit card... same as most folks.

One other item that I carry that no one mentioned, unless I missed it, is Duct Tape.  You can make a lot of temporary repairs with duct tape.  In a pinch, you can also secure stuff to a luggage rack if you are short on bungee cords - repair clothing malfunctions - dress a wound - and it also comes in pretty handy for securing those individuals that become a bit unruly ;)

Nope...I'm hoping it can be repaired and not have to be replaced.  I'll have to bite the bullet this season though. Especially if I make it to Eureka Springs.  Need to try to keep up with the shiney bikes I see on this site!

This is a multi-purpose tool I carry sometimes. It can help me get supper if lost, adjust bad attitudes, and scare rabid dogs away.

She only goes rabid after I popped my $750 budget.

There was an identically titled thread started at least three years ago on this. LOTS of useful comments on that one. Where's a moderator when you need him

Hey, I just realized. We have no women moderators. It's an all boys club

Waz up wid dat ?

We got some smart, talented, sweetheart lady riders with killer IP skills on this site.

Is this 2009 or 1909 ?

Elvislee,

Can you post a picture of that fork brace? Was it H-D or some other brand?  Let me know maybe I can just look it up online.

I'm thinking it would look good and cover the dent depending on where it lands on the fork.

Thanks,

Joe
