Shopping list
« on: September 07, 2005, 11:50:04 PM »

Well the time is quickly approaching (ok, not THAT quickly) for my black (yes black, why can't they call it that instead of candy crimson whatever?) SE Ultra to come in. Now it's time to make my shopping list for all the stuff I want the dealer to do to it or add to it. So what would you guys do? Here are my quick thoughts:
Stage 1
Rinehart True-Duals w/race tuner
Harley alarm/pager thingie
Saddle bag light latches
Saddle bag spoiler w/light
and te fairing mount mirrors...really want to know if anyone has experience with the mirrors...on the fense with that one.

Anyway, thanx all! You all are great and I love reading all the posts! [smiley=bigok.gif]

Here's a pretty recent thread on the fairing mounted mirrors:

http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=eg_gen;action=display;num=1123633444

Here's another from a little earlier in the year:

http://flhrsei.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=eg_gen;action=display;num=1109384541

Neither are very long but they might answer some questions you're wondering about.  Also for an FYI; check up at the top and you'll see a button titled "search."  It's a pretty handy tool to bring up prior conversations you might be wondering about now.  Good luck with the new bike  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Congrats on your new purchase. I like your choice in colors. har har.  What have they told you for a delivery date?  Mine is supposed to be December, but I hope the current problems with the AH colors doesn't delay the black and beautiful ones.  LOL   [smiley=7.gif]

The biggest thing to add will probably be the 6 speed the factory forgot.

Sounds like the title of a bad mystery novel, "The Six Speed the Factory Forgot."

It was a dark and stormy night as I gained speed entering the dark and forbidding highway.

That of course begs another question.....Factory 6-speed (1:1) or something like the Baker?

I know I know.....use the search button and look for a thread on that. Gee, that takes all the fun out of it.

They probably don't call it black because it's not really black. Mine is BLACK EMERALD in the right light it looks brown but if you look close it is black with green metal flake in it. I'm guessing that the color you want is black with crimson metal flakes in it but that's just a guess.
I'm not sure that the spoiler will fit on the SE tour pak, it has a hump in the middle.
I had the fairing mount mirrows on my 99 Ultra. I didn't really notice any difference in what I could see in them and they didn't viberate but after a couple of years the plastic cracked on one of them. I wouldn't put them on again but I was happy with them while I had them.

I had the fairing mount mirrors on my '99 Ultra. Really liked them. Not as much vibration and could see around my arms a little better. Havent put them on my '05 SEEG yet. Dont know if I want to drill holes in that painted fairing.

iF YOU PLAY THE STEREO LOUD THE MIRROWS WILL ECENTUALLY CRACK THE FAIRING FROM VIBRATION. ALSO BECAUSE OF VIBRATION YOU WILL GET A GHOSTING EFFECT IN THE MIRROWS. ONE MORE THING. IF YOU ARE AT LEAST 6 FEET TALL YOU MAY FIND THAT THE MIRROWS ARE NOT VERY ADJUSTABLE. THIS HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE. [smiley=banana.gif] [smiley=banana.gif]
