Totally awesome. That's a ride I've wanted to take for a while. The road reminds me of the Natchez Trace which I've ridden many times. The Blue Ridge is just on top of the mountains. Beeee-u-ti-ful....

Cool video, just keeps the fire fueled. Timing is good too. Was planning on joining up for the Maggie Valley run, but change in work schedule put the crapper on that. However, will be doing Skyline thru the BRP the week before Memorial day and need a little advice. How tough is it to find gas? How long to ride it top to bottom? Good places to stay, etc. My best friend,Wife,navigator, will be sitting behind me and this will be her longest journey. Took her to Lake George/Americade last year, and she did great. Went from rain to 102 degrees and the only person she abused was the Manager at the Mcdonalds that we stopped at on the way home.I can live with that. So we want to stretch it out a bit this year.Any and all advice welcomed and appreciated.

I live really close to the parkway let me know when you are going to be doing it and if schedule permits I'll meet you up there and ride some of it with you. Gas will not be problem as long as you watch your gauge. It is limited access so you should start looking for fuel when your tank is showing 1/2 - 1/4 left and you will be able to find some before you end up on fumes. I would also recommend fueling up every morning (or night) before getting on the parkway to ensure you start the day off w/a full tank. Some gas stations are really close to the exit/entrances and some you might have to go a few miles (10 - 20) to get to them. I've never ridden the entire thing, so can't tell you how long it will take you to complete, but it will be days for sure. Blue ridge parkway is one of the better rides in the country. Next best thing to Colorado Peak to Peak riding.

2 years ago I planned to do Skyline Drive/BRP for 2 days in May. Had 1 great day on Skyline, beautiful with perfect weather. The next day I planned for BRP it was fog and pouring rain at the hotel. When I got up on the parkway, the rain turned to sleet and after about 15 minutes of fog/sleet the road started to get slick, so I turned around.

It is on my list to go back!

Brings back memories from last summer - We used Asheville as a central point and rode for 6 days - 2300+ miles inclusive of the 550 mile commute from NE Ohio.
