Fogged Gauges
« on: September 18, 2005, 08:54:50 PM »

Hey All,  Just curious if the MOCO finally fixed the fogged gauges yet.  My 04 all the small ones fog up, fuel was from day one and always the worst.  MOCO says they will not warranty them unless the glass gets stained.  Great reply after spending all that cash on one of their hand built babies!  So if your 06 models seem ok, maybe a retrofit would be the answer for the rest of us!
Thanks

I wonder why the fuel gauge is always the worst?  Most of mine steam up, but the fuel gauge (replaced under warranty for steaming up!) is the worst on everybody's Ultra. Can't be the position, and the gauge itself isn't much different to the others....

I've tried everything to dry mine out - take them off the bike, place them face down on a heater with a bag of silica gel on top for a coule of days, blow them with a hair drier, but - put them back on the bike, and straight away they steam up again (from the heat of the bulb, I guess).

My 99 fogged up and come to think of it, it was the gas gauge. The 06 hasn't yet but like FR8TRN said it hasn't been wet yet either.
